Legal
Compliance & licensing
How we meet anti-money laundering, sanctions and consumer-protection obligations across every market we serve.
Anti-money laundering programme
Our AML programme is risk-based and covers customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence for higher-risk relationships, ongoing transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting and independent annual testing. A designated compliance officer owns the programme and reports to the board.
Sanctions screening
Every customer, counterparty and payment instruction is screened against consolidated sanctions lists including OFAC, UN, EU, UK HMT and applicable local lists, at onboarding and continuously thereafter. Matches are escalated to trained analysts before any funds move.
Licensing disclosures
TotalRemit delivers payment, banking and card issuing services through licensed partner institutions in each market. The specific licensed entity, its regulator and its safeguarding arrangements are disclosed to you during onboarding and named on your account statements.
Consumer protection
Customer funds are held in safeguarding accounts at partner institutions and are not used for operational purposes. Pre-transaction disclosure of the rate, margin, fee and expected delivery time is provided on every transfer.
Complaints
Complaints can be raised with support at any time and are acknowledged within one business day and resolved within 15 business days. If you remain dissatisfied you may escalate to the financial ombudsman or equivalent scheme in your market; contact details are provided in our final response.
Cookies and tracking
We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication and security, and analytics cookies to understand product usage. We do not run third-party advertising trackers. You can reject non-essential cookies at any time from the banner or your account settings without losing access to any service.
